Soldier, senator, and the 5th governor of New Jersey (1756–1839). Handwritten endorsement, “Approved, Aa. Ogden, DQMG,†at the bottom of a manuscript DS, signed “Wm. Stackhouse,†1 page, 8.25 x 6.5, dated on the reverse July 31, 1800. A receipt for shoeing 2 horses reads, “To Shoeing two public horses from ye first April to this day—four Months—Dolls. 4.—$4. Received payment of the above 4 dollars of Elias B.
